aith, religion, and politics are all vol-atile topics, wouldn't you agree? And so, it is for good reason that these argumentative subjects are banned from polite conversation. Even so, my faith is a big part of who I am, so I simply can't pretend it doesn't matter to me, or that it doesn't effect every part of my life, because it does. I realize that discussions pertaining to these controversial subjects can get very heated, and so they are not for the faint of heart. Particularly, as a Christian, I feel it is my duty to defend my faith, but this duty can be taken too far by some, to the point of employing personal attacks, like name calling, or throwing jabs at a person's level of intellect. So, for those of you who wish to continue reading, and explore what I have written on these important pages in the defense of my faith, then beware, only because your faith might be challenged, not because I intend for you to think I am attacking you personally, which I'm not. I will be writing about: our big God, our most holy faith, and our Bible. As well as addressing Christian faith issues like: What is Biblical faith and how does it work? What is sound doctrine and why is it important? What are the hallmarks of false teachers and/or prophets? And many other issues that have affected and shaped my faith these forty-two years of my existence. I will |
share with you how I have learned to overcome some obstacles, while others, I'm still struggling with. So I haven't been perfected yet, but I'm still running my race! But before you explore this page and it's sub-pages, I would request that you first visit my Be A Berean! page as it contains what I have learned in my journey of studying our amazing handbook for living the Christian life, God's Holy word-the Bible. Again, please understand that it is not my intent to "hate on" people with differing beliefs, but rather to expose them to the possibility that what they have learned is not the whole truth. I don't like being lied to, anymore than the next person does, so it is my intent to bring people of differing faiths to the knowledge of the truth, meaning the truth of the gospel, which is intentionally being hidden from them, and perverted by their leaders for personal gain. Just as the Bible demonstrates over and over with in its pages, the priests were usually responsible for leading the people astray. The questioning of a person's faith can lead many to become offended, disillusioned, and even angry. Again, this is not my intention, so if you don't agree with me, that's fine, and you have a right to your opinion just like I have a right to mine, but the truth demands your attention, consideration, and an answer. So come, and let us reason together! |
DISCLAIMER!
Please note: It is not my intent to "teach", or to "have authority over men", because this site is really geared toward women, hence the name of the site: The Whittier Housewife . The only men I really intend to read these pages are my husband, and eldest son. My husband helps keep me on track theologically, while my eldest son helps, from time to time, to edit my work grammatically. That being said, I hope you, dear reader [woman or man], will search through these topics and read what I have written regarding them, and of course, check them with Scripture. Then feel free to alert me of any misinterpretations you feel I have made. And I hope that what I have written, will above all, make you think and consider, to study, and to show yourself approved unto God.
